Rubie Green Fabrics

Posted on: Monday, February 28, 2011

I'm still completely smitten with Rubie Green Fabrics. I would LOVE to make curtains or reupholster an antique chair. I think I'll go for it once I buy my first home. Have you used any of these fabrics in your home?

Happy Birthday!

Happy Birthday to my little sister LC.
My best friend, who makes me laugh constantly. LC is the prettiest girl I know, inside and out.
All my love on your special day!

Little Loves

Posted on: Friday, February 25, 2011

It's the little things that make me happy.
Fresh flowers, small vignettes, little projects, and orderly spaces.
I believe a home should be your sanctuary.

After Jen Ramos featured my home tour on Made By Girl I received a ton of positive feedback and questions. Thank you to everyone for the sweet comments. I thought I would post this extended version above and link to all of my DIY projects. I tend to switch things out in the spring to create a fresh, new, bright feeling. The easiest way to do this is by adding fresh flowers, and switching out your accent pillows.

Is anyone else getting a little bit stir crazy? I'm ready for tank-tops, a warm breeze, and fun in the sun.

Current Obsession

I'm still obsessing over graphic, leopard style fabrics.
Classic yet edgy. So perfect.
Would you use any of these prints in your home?

The Question

Posted on: Monday, February 21, 2011

I've been helping my friend "K" with some of the details for her upcoming wedding! I'm definitely someone who gushes over engagements so I thought I'd put a mood board together and accompany it with my favorite little engagement song, "Question", by The Old 97's.
This song is so easy to relate to. If you're engaged or married, I think it would help you remember that special day, and if you're not, your imagination runs wild, thinking of the day you will be.

Best wishes to my friend "KD" on her recent engagement! She and her beau are the absolute cutest!
Congrats!

Home Decor

Posted on: Friday, February 18, 2011

Lately, I'm all about bold, graphic rugs that serve as the statement piece in a room.
I really enjoyed putting together this mood board pulling from the colors within the rug. I added a sheepskin rug for a little visual interest and texture. A needed dose of masculinity is provided by the tufted leather sofa and vintage industrial wheeled coffee table. I could definitely spend some time is this room.

Kate Spade Maternity?

Posted on: Thursday, February 17, 2011

Well, no, not at all.
However, I think the Briella dress has the perfect silhouette for someone who is expecting.
One of my best friends currently is. The moment I saw this dress I sent an email entitled "I found your Baby Shower dress!". Why not think outside the box when it comes to maternity wear? There's simply no reason not to be a stylin' mama if you want to be!

GAP has seriously brought their A-Game this spring. I'm completely smitten with their new looks. More edgy than what I've grown to expect from them.
Bring it on GAP, I'm pickin' up what you're putin' down.
Head on over and check out their looks.

Happy Valentines Day

Posted on: Monday, February 14, 2011

What are your plans for Valentines Day? Fresh flowers and champagne fit the bill for me.
I love the above DIY ideas from Country Living. Sewing heart elbow patches on a sweater....adorable! I also completely stole the idea of using paint strips as Valentines day cards.

Signet Jewelery

Posted on: Wednesday, February 9, 2011

I'm all about signet necklaces lately. For one, I'm obsessed with my monogram. However, I love the idea of wearing your couples monogram, or the first initial of your child's name etc.
I've been toying with the idea of getting one but I'm thinking I may want to be a little more undercover than my monogram. Perhaps the first initial of my middle name? It's my Mother's maiden name and I have always LOVED it.

Do any of you wear signet jewelery?

Adele's song "Rolling In The Deep" inspired the above mood board.
I've been listening to this particular song for a while now. The pain and power in her voice is palpable. It's the type of song you listen to on full blast, and find yourself compelled to scream along to. I've had many a dance party with this tune.

Have I gone way to artsy on you over here... or do you love it as much as I do?

Talk about judging a book by its cover!

Chic Reading

I was completely sold on this book the second I saw the blue opaline glass goblets on the cover. I've been coveting those glasses for two years now!
My friend "K" gave me the book as a hostess gift. I am currently pouring over each page of Thrifty Chic: Interior Style on a Shoestring. The gorgeous photos are quickly inspiring a NEED to go antiquing! I love when a decor book recognizes that stunning spaces CAN be created on a budget.
I'm officially on the hunt for a mirror! Anyone have an antique find on their radar?

Bliss.

Today will involve a good book, a cup of coffee, and lots of lounging.
I'm also planing on checking out the premier issue of High Gloss Magazine.
