Batik Tea Towels

Posted on: Tuesday, June 29, 2010

I love these tea towels by 5 o'clock crows. They scream of a carefree summer.

They are hand-dyed and machine washable. Each tea towel ranges in pricing from $21.00-25.00
These would make a perfect hostess gift for a summer dinner party.
Love.

TOMS

Posted on: Friday, June 25, 2010

TOMS is an amazing company. With every pair of sheos you purchase, TOMS will give a new pair to a child in need. This is such an important movement because a leading cause of disease in developing countries is soil-transmitted diseases. These diseases can penetrate the skin through bare feet. Wearing shoes can help prevent these diseases as well as other cuts and sores that can in turn become infected. For a full explination of the "one for one movement" click here.
I've been obsessed with the idea of having red TOMS for a while now, but decided after L.C pointed out the gold pair that I needed to go big or go home. I've just puchased these instead.
I bought them at Nordstroms for $53.95 which is a bit more than regular Toms..but let's be honest, they're legit. My sister got the same pair and I scooped up a third for my friend O. I can't wait to pair them with white jeans, rompers, and leggings.
Visit TOMS to pick up your own pair!

A Summer Essential

Posted on: Monday, June 21, 2010

I've seen mixed reviews on Neutrogena's body oil but I definitely recommend it. I have the light sesame formula but it also comes in a fragrance free formula. I have never tried a body oil before and just came home to CT where I always snoop around and see what products my sister is using. You apply a small amount of the oil to shower damp skin to seal in moisture. It isn't greasy and leaves your skin silky smooth. I think its perfect after long days on the beach in the summer sun. Check it out and let me know what you think.
You can find it at Target for $13.29

Sorry for the lack of posts. I've made it back to CT and went to two nights of Phish with frinds and L.C. I'll be back on Monday.

Headed to a happy hour on my friends rooftop deck before I head out of town. I like wearing outfits that can transition from day to night to these types of gatherings. Generally that means throwing on a pair of heels rather than sandals.
Happy Tuesday. Shop the set here.

Kate Somerville Tanning Towelette

Posted on: Monday, June 14, 2010

These tanning towelettes are for your face and body and my friend says they are amazing! She has been using them to prep for her role as a blushing bride at the end of the month. Unlike spray tans and tanning creams these towlettes do not smell or rub off on your clothes! They are paraben-free and produce your summer glow within 2 to 4 hours after applied. I totally trust her endorsement and am planning on using one the night before the rehearsal dinner. I'm actually wearing a yellow dress so lord knows I'm going to need it! I generally avoid yellow at all costs because it completely washes me out. This dress is a bold yellow that I think will look good if... and only if, I have a golden tan. So here's hoping that these little guys do the job!
They retail for $48.00 and include 8 towlettes in the set. My friend said that one towelette was enough to do her entire body and she was totally thrilled with the end result which was a really healthy looking glow (without any streaks). If your interested, check them out here.
I'll update you after I use them. Have any of you tried them?

Obsessed with the spread on Lonny editorial assistant Ellie Somerville's home. Love the above pendant lamp she used from IKEA.

Also drooling over this fabric, which is used to cover the doorway to her closet.
$77.90 per yard

I just had to add this image too. There is a ton going on but I really appreciate all of the color (and I love blue). If it were me I would have done a little less zebra. Definitely not the ceiling. Regardless, I love the bold design.

Killer!

So this is the rug my sister has chosen for her room next year. I'm going to take full credit and say that I'm rubbing off on her. Seriously though, amazing choice. I can't wait to help her decorate the rest of the room.

Update: L.C. was a little miffed for a moment there that I had blogged about her rug. She was worried that someone else was going to buy her rug. Thankfully, my mother tactfully reminded her that no one actually reads my blog... crisis averted. -Ha!

Peonies Please

The little bursts of pink peonies in my apartment are just what I needed.
Happy Monday!

New Fabric Obsession!

Posted on: Thursday, June 3, 2010

I think this fabric may quite possibly be perfect for my bedroom curtains!

It actually reminds me a little of the below fabric by Romo used by Fabulous K for her inspiration board. Isn't is absolute perfection! I NEED her desk.

Shop Pomegranate

Posted on: Tuesday, June 1, 2010

I discovered Pomegranate through a post on HHFTD. I think I'm hooked! The above ikat tea towels are amazing! I love the blue and green ones. I really want to get a few and use them in my restroom as hand towels. I think I would pair them with a solid color, perhaps yellow?
A set of two is priced at $14.00

I'm dying over these placemats! They are so gorgeous and just scream Leotine Linins to me.
They come with four in a set and are priced at $40.00. I love the dark blue and the yellow. They are so pretty I feel like you could frame them. How cute would that be?
