Cameo

Posted on: Tuesday, July 31, 2012

Just wanted to share a new to me line, Cameo I saw on The Fashion Bunker (out of Australia).  I discovered it through Sincerely Jules who wears a lot of their pieces.  Large floral prints, capes, and stripes- yup, I'm hooked.
Check out the full line here.  Would you order out of Australia?

Color Me Happy

Posted on: Thursday, July 26, 2012

I am so impressed with J.Crew these days.  The silhouette and color palette of these shoes are perfection.  I always opt for a pointed toe, as it elongates the leg.  The pops of color are right on trend and the heel height looks like I could easily get through a day at work.
I can't pick a favorite. I'll take one of each please- size six ;)

Feathered Frocks

Posted on: Monday, July 23, 2012

The next fun wardrobe piece I'd like to acquire is a little feathered dress or skirt. Slight problem- I'm wildly allergic to feathers. I've suffered many a childhood sleepover gone wrong after discovering a pillow or comforter was actually down. Of course this makes me want to own one even more! So I'm on the hunt for some sort of synthetic feathered frock. For those of you with out this "issue" I've found two options that mimic the above images

The J. Crew Victoria feather-skirt linen dress and the  Milly Saasha Ostrich Feather Dress. With wedding season in full swing I would wear the all white option as a bride to a rehearsal dinner- playful yet elegant. The black and white Milly option would be perfect to wear as a guest at a formal celebration.
Happy Monday

Street Style

I'm generally more interested in the street style portraits than the actual runway shows.  Above are a few of my favorite Tommy Ton shots from the couture and menswear scene in Paris, Milan, and beyond.

One of my all-time favorite images (my absolute favorite is the background on my twitter page).
I love the color palette, so I put together a little outfit that mimics it.
The perfect look for a summer cocktail party.
Hope you all have some exciting plans for the weekend!

I actually love jumpsuits and think they can serve as a versatile piece in your wardrobe. I recently purchased this one which I can dress up or down. Throw on a white blazer to make it conservative or dress it up with some statement jewelry as seen above. Would you romp around in something like this?

Anna Spiro for Porter's Original Paints

Posted on: Monday, July 9, 2012

Have you seen any of these sneak peeks of Anna Spiro's original designs for Porter's Paints (find it here)?
Simply put- they are stunning.
Anna is based out of Brisbane.  She is an interior designer, and has her own boutique, Black & Spiro.  I have followed her blog, Absolutely Beautiful Things, for a while now. Her colorful design aesthetic is right up my alley.  I wish her boutique was in the states! She always has such unique pieces.

Fashion as art.
I always lay out new pieces of clothing or shoes around the house. This image totally resonates.  Do any of you put new purchases on display?

Happy Tuesday

It's hard not to be drawn to nautical stripes during the summer months. Above are a few staples I would gladly add to my wardrobe. The lobster sweater reminds me of summers in New England where night often brings a small chill.  After a long day on the beach white jeans and a cashmere sweater are the perfect combination for dinner out on the porch.
As of late I'm all about doubling up on prints so I would definitely pair stripes together on the top and bottom using the pieces above.
