Anna Spiro's Design for Halcyon House

Posted on: Monday, June 29, 2015

I have long been a fan of Australian designer Anna Spiro, first posting here in 2010 and also posting here about her wallpaper design for Porter's Paints (you can purchase here). Through Anna's Instagram I've been able to follow along as she shares scenes of her masterful work on  Halcyon House - a beachfront boutique hotel located in Australia (Cabarita beach, Northern New South Wales). It is simply stunning! Take a look at her incredible pattern play using stunning textiles, wallpaper, and even floor tiles. Her talent is so inspiring.
Can I please move in!?

I'm headed to Mexico this summer and recently purchased the above cookbook (despite the fact that I can't cook and frequent Chipotle an embarrassing number of times each week). I'm getting really excited- so clearly I have to post about it!
Shop the look below and let me know if you've been to Mexico!?

I loved the playful patterns and color palettes used in the first two images so I merged them together to create an inspired mood board.

A little reading nook I'd love to be sitting in wearing the above skirt. My obsession with country estate knows no bounds and I like the idea of hanging them in a little arrangement on the wall.

One: How lovely is this dress for summer weddings!?
Two: A summer spent on this swing reading would be just fine with me.
Three: This tray is almost too pretty to serve on and it's only $80
Four: The most perfect weekend spent in Kentucky has me wanting to begin collecting mint julep cups- I currently have just one.
Five: A beach bag with personality- yes please.
Six: I wore this scalloped bikini over the weekend in black.

All images via my instagram except the cake

Lately it's been busy busy busy!

Left- I enjoyed the best birthday brunch for my girl Jamieson. She made an incredible meal and I set the table complete with new birthday Lemlem napkins.
Right: Summer is pretty much here and I plan to spend a good portion of it reading at the beach wearing my sun hat.

Left-Banana leaf is EVERYWHERE right now! I'm actually wearing a skirt tomorrow with the print but have you ever seen it on a cake?! Check out the DIY here.
Right- A picture that reminds me of how lucky I am to have just finished a year teaching the sweetest class filled to the brim with incredible families! I'm going to miss them so much this summer :(

Left: My end of the year gift to myself! I'm building my Country Estate collection and treated myself to more coffee mugs- perfect for lazy summer mornings.
Right- I also picked up these neutral summer staples that I plan to live in! The heels are super comfy and were on sale here, then the clutch was a total copy of my good friend who snagged it here (also on major sale)

Hope everyone is having a great week!

Lemlem Home Collection

Posted on: Thursday, June 4, 2015

Have you seen that Lemlem has a home collection available now at Anthropologie. I love the napkins  the tablecloth, and the shower curtain is great too!

Here's the backstory on Lemlem:

Lemlem was launched in 2007 by Ethiopian actress, model and World Health Organization ambassador Liya Kebede. Liya's intention was to support the struggling weavers of her home country while preserving their traditional methods. This hand-woven, collection was inspired by equal parts art deco glamour and seaside sophistication.

Just a little dream board of everything I would cram into my perfect entryway/sitting area.
(Copious amounts of blue &white- so predictable!)
The above x benches are an incredible price point! I'm also completely smitten with the calligraphy square bowl.
