Inspired by Krystal Bick I kept the look tonal and added a chambray shirt to offset the sequins. Would you rock a little daytime dazzle?

ps. Krystal's skirt is Zara. And yes, I've already purchased it. Oops.

It's pouring. I'm sick and had to cancel my flight. Buh-bye fun weekend plans.
I wouldn't mind being sick in the above space. The black and white feature wall is stunning.
I'll be on lock down this weekend... go have some fun for me!

Double Denim

Posted on: Wednesday, October 26, 2011

After moments like this and this it's hard to believe that double denim is back. It's not a look for everyone but when it's done right I absolutely LOVE it.
What are your thoughts? Would you attempt to rock a head-to-toe denim look, or will it forever be the Canadian Tuxedo?

The Weekend+New Fall Nail Color

Posted on: Monday, October 24, 2011

Happy Birthday to my best friend "K". The weekend was filled with a flurry of activities to celebrate! Just a few pics from our favorite vineyard saturday afternoon.
I discovered a new fall favorite during our morning spa appointment for mani/pedi's. OPI's "Skull and Glossbones". With Halloween right around the corner I couldn't pass up the fun name! It's a soft grey that has a hint of sage.
What's your favorite nail color for fall? I need to expand my repertoire ;)

Happy Birthday "K"! What a fun weekend!

Music+Mood Boards

The past two weekends I've gone to see the Trey Anastasio Band. Above is "Let Me Lie". TAB played it both nights, but this version is from when Trey played with The Scorchio Quintet.

Guest Post by O.Style-The Folding Wayfarer

Posted on: Wednesday, October 19, 2011

My best friend, Olivia, is a style consultant outside of Boston. Her taste is flawless, and I've previously featured both her engagement and wedding here on the blog. I've been after her for a while to do a style post and am so happy to finally bring you her pick for a must-have item!
My dearest friend CC has let me commandeer her blog for the day to tell you about my latest obsession the FOLDING Wayfarer. I "discovered" them when shopping for a new pair of sunglasses ~Que the super sad old ones are sitting at the bottom of Mirror Lake in NH.

After this devastating loss I ran right over to the nearest Sunglass Hut to purchase another pair of "Classic Wayfarers." I just love the classics! They're such a throw back to the days of glamor with James Dean and, but of course, the iconic Audrey Hepburn. That said, there was one thing I just wasn't feeling about the Classic Wayfarer style, they were so angled toward the face when you wore them. So, in an attempt to fix that qualm I picked up a pair of the, oh so over bought and worn, "Modern Wayfarers". For some reason these babies just look sad on my face...I'm NOT kidding guys, they actually make me look sad, depressed...etc. If a pair of sunglasses can evoke a feeling... on me, these evoke "I'm a seriously sad person!"

Showing my distress, the nice Sunglass Hut lady came over to help me. I told her my issues and she suggests these puppies.
First, she hooks me by showing me that they are actually the "Classic Wayfarer", but they don't angle toward your face (they sit 90 degrees to it like normal sunglasses...OH JOY!). Then she completely gets me when she demonstrates that these little sunglasses have their very own party trick. That's right...they fold up into an itty bitty case. Aw yeah people, aw yeah.

Now wait, you might be asking yourself..."So, they fold up small, who the heck cares...what does this mean for me?" Good questions kids. Here is what it means: Nights out on the town with just the sunset left, little tinny sunglasses in your clutch. How about boating with friends and you don't want to be "that girl" who has a big bag of stuff...oh wait, you just have your little tiny sunglasses that fold up into your pocket. Or, maybe you're a mama, and you have a ton to carry all the time...well, there is always room for little tinny sunglasses in that dipper bag isn't there?

Well there you have it folks. I'm sold, fit and function. I hope you are too!
**Disclaimer: Men might steel these from you, purely because they fit in that little tiny chest pocket on their shirts that they have never used before. Oh, and because they are cool!**
Thanks so much, O!

Currently Coveting

I'm currently obsessing over Brit designer Charlotte Taylor's bold colors and prints. Anthropologie has been carrying her scarves and is just starting to carry more pieces from the line. Find the current items stocked by Anthropologie here.

Inspiration from Home Modern

I had to share this Dorothy Draper-inspired workstation from Heather over on Home Modern. Aren't the before and after pictures incredible! All of her hard work paid off because this little number is a show stopper!
Heather found the original piece here.
This was the closest match I could find.
Happy Friday!

It's always in the details.
I refuse to serve cheese to guests again without presenting it on this slate cheese board from Ctate&Barrel. Such a gorgeous presentation and, I'm excited to label the slate board with chalk! The serveware is moderately priced and comes in small, medium, and large.

The Weekend

Posted on: Monday, October 10, 2011

Just some pieces of the weekend. It was a good one.
Friday I went to an art exhibit at a friends gallery. Saturday after brunch with friends I was surprised and dropped off at the spa for a massage. Afterwards, I went golfing. Not only was I playing with the former club champ but I had to borrow his right handed clubs (I'm a lefty). It was such a gorgeous day so I pretty much goofed around the whole time and they played for real on the last two holes. After our round we ended the night at a Trey Anastasio concert.
Busy, busy.
Tonight, my little sister is in town for the evening.
So happy!

I think I may have over scheduled myself for the weekend. As long as I get a chance to finally order my desert boots, and cozy up with a cup of tea to relax, I'll be happy. Oh, how I wish I could snuggle with a good book in the space above! The stark contrast of the black and white color palette actually feels warm paired with heavy drapes, eclectic art, and styled shelves.

I find neutrals, especially in a home, to be so calming. Above, I love the idea of hanging blankets on an antique ladder. The middle vignette looks like the perfect mudroom, and the last picture shows the stripey runner I'm currently coveting.
Happy Wednesday Loves.

Tellason Denim- Made in the USA

Posted on: Sunday, October 2, 2011

After over twenty years in the apparel industry, Tony Patella and and Pete Searson founded Tellason a few years back. They design raw denim jeans cut and sewn in San Francisco using fabric from Cone Mills' White Oak plant in Greensboro, North Carolina. With an impressive stocklist these jeans are making a name for themselves. After watching the video below, you'll want to get your guy in a pair of Tellason's. I love when men roll one small cuff on the bottom exposing the selvedge lining on the outseams of the jeans.
