Have you seen this piece on Elle Fanning in Marie Claire Magazine? Stunning!
I can't look at these pictures without thinking of Edie Sedgwick. Is it just me?

Music + Mood Boards

This is one of my all-time favorites. It's the type of song you save. You can't dance to it with just anyone. Do you have those songs? I have a few of them.

Bar Cart: Tasteful or Tacky?

I've heard mixed reviews on this design trend. What do you think about having your liquor on display? A practical design or a social faux pas?

Adriele Originals on Etsy

Posted on: Monday, June 27, 2011

I loved stumbling upon this tableware a few weeks ago over on Adriele Originals. I continue to be a sucker for all things chevron so I have to try not to post too often on it! How adorable is the mini cake stand ($35.00)? The plates are around $60.00 for a set of four. There are also ways to customize the plates. Head on over and check it out.

What a great way to start the weekend, this totally warrants a dance party!

Etsy Love

Add a little sparkle to your everyday look with these incredible bracelets by AYOFEMI JEWELRY. I love the contrast of the rhinestones set against the texture of the colored threads! They remind me of the friendship bracelets I used to make growing up (except more fabulous). A hint of nostalgia+shine! I'm sold. Pricing runs from $22-32

Fashion Focus

I love how playing with a summer scarf can change the entire tone of an outfit. You can also wrap a scarf a few times in a circle around your neck for a casual look.

sunnies: urban outfitters, dress: banana republic, scarf: urban outfitters, belt: ralph lauren, watch: michael kors, rings: h&m + forever21
ps. I love this color combo and was quick to copy it after I saw this photo a few years ago.
Special thanks to KG the phatographer

Signs of Summer

Posted on: Wednesday, June 15, 2011

The freckles are in full effect! Back to the pool tomorrow :)

Minimal fuss and low pressure seem to be inherent in summer entertaining. The carefree months create a relaxed atmosphere where fresh foods take center stage. Guests comfort is a high priority; leading to less formal expectations for attire. I wouldn't dream of wearing jeans to a dinner party during the fall or winter. Conversely, during the summer months, you're free to wear everything from a maxi dress and flip flops to white jeans and a chambray oxford shirt.

I loved putting together the above tablescape. The carefree spirit of summer inspired me to play with different patterns and colors. I love the natural element of the chargers. I would bring in lavish amounts of candles as well as vases filled with crisp white peonies.
Would you attend this soiree? The menu would include flank steak, corn on the cob, and a fresh tomato and mozzarella salad. Dessert would be wild berries topped with whip cream!
Ahh, how I love to daydream ;)

Recipe for Relaxation

Posted on: Monday, June 13, 2011

1, 2, 3
Does anyone else have trouble relaxing!? I feel like I have a million things on my mind. What's your go-to? A good book to escape in? A tough workout? Cleaning and organizing your home? Share your secret, I'd love to know.

Pink+Pleats=Perfection

I've developed a small obsession with accordion pleats. How amazing is this dress? Soft pink paired with gold accessories, and classic black pumps... it's a home run. I love how the grey backdrop allows the fashion to take center stage. Would you wear this? I'd be all over it!

Beach Bum?

Posted on: Thursday, June 9, 2011

At first glance it looks like I'm displaying a gorgeous new fabric line. Nope! The above swatches are actually prints for oversized beach towels that run you about $20.00! I just received one as a gift and was thrilled! The line is called plenty by tracy reese and I am OBSESSED! If I had a pool I would be buying extra towels to make pillows that would serve as vibrant pool decor.

The tracy reese towels have just replaced my "need" for the new Roberta Roller Rabbit towels which will set you back $100.oo. I'd much rather own a few of these lovelies!

Beat the Heat

Posted on: Wednesday, June 8, 2011

I love easy breezy clothing when the the summer months hit. This little sleeveless number from Banana Republic is perfect. I would pair the blue with my light pink khaki shorts and red TOMS. Throw on a hat for some shade and you're done.
Retails for $69.50

So much for keeping it simple. I'm completely smitten with chunky bold rings. They just feel perfect for summer. My little collection is growing but I feel totally fine because all of the above rings are from Forever21.

(except for the chevron House of Harlow one & the rings on the elephant)

Big style for a small price=summer bliss.

ps. Doesn't my little elephant ring holder look like he's wearing a turban!? I love it.

LC's DIY Clutch

Posted on: Monday, June 6, 2011

One of my graduation gifts to the little one was a DIY clutch that I made. I used her initials as well as her school colors. I got the idea from this post on Clare Vivier's blog. I used an American Apparel clutch ($50.00). The paint and stickers for the initials were from Michaels. Then I used painters tape to mark off the stripes. It was a quick process (using a hair dryer helped with time) and I really loved the end result. There are so many ways you could try this. Different color combinations, different line widths, even horizontal lines.
Hope this provides a little inspiration.

Look for Less

Posted on: Thursday, June 2, 2011

Does everyone know about J.Crew's Factory store? I was talking about it with my uber stylish friend KM yesterday and I think it's worth a post. If you love the look of J.Crew but are not digging the prices you should absolutely check out their factory store. Above is a classic example of why.
The "Perfect Shirt in suckered mini-gingham" is pictured on the right. It retails on the J.Crew website for $72.00. On the left is the J.Crew "Factory Perfect shirt in suckered gingham" for $34.50. They look extremely similar to me. Given the choice, I'd absolutely scoop up the factory store version.
Happy Shopping

The Fifth Wall

Posted on: Wednesday, June 1, 2011

Obsessed with the stripes on the ceiling and the wall of books. Honestly, how perfect is this for a nursery? I don't know that much about babies, but it seems like they're laying down looking up at the ceiling more than you average person. Not only are the stripes cute... but you can convince your husband that he needs to paint them so that your child receives the proper amount of visual stimulus (at least that would be my argument).
