Sneak Peak: CWD Textiles

Posted on: Wednesday, September 28, 2011

Caitlin Wilson has been showing little previews of her upcoming textiles line on her blog. I'm so excited for her to reveal the entire line. I remember when I filled out the survey that she placed on her blog during the beginning stages of her new business venture. Of course she did not disappoint. Her impeccable taste and flawless design aesthetic is serving her well.

Just because I love it...

Happy Tuesday, loves.

Music + Mood Boards

I went and saw MoneyBall this weekend and died over Kerris Dorsey's cover of "The Show". I like it so much more than the origial. It's so raw and beautiful. It's been on repeat this weekend.

Running on Empty...

Backstage: The Jason Wu Spring 2012 Collection at New York Fashion Week

I love this photo, but I had to drain all of the vibrant color from the original image. I've been running around like this for weeks, except I have no one in the back picking up the slack.
Anyone else racing towards the end of of the work week?

Form+Function

Posted on: Wednesday, September 21, 2011

This space is bliss.

Not only is it aesthetically pleasing, but it's also a functional space. I'm constantly displaying my clothing in my bedroom. I generally put out new pieces, or color combinations that I want to try. I hook hangers on the backs of my doors so that I can see my clothing
(does anyone else do this or am I alone on this one?).
I love how the clothing and shelving unit takes the place of a headboard in this bedroom. The actual clothing adds pops of color against the stark white canvas of the room (so calming). Visual interest is created by using different textures and fabrics. Hello sheepskin rug, and lace patterned blankets.
I don't think I could have anything but sweet dreams in this space.

PS. Is it Friday yet?

We finally had cooler weather this weekend so I took the opportunity to get out of the city for a little fresh air.

The symmetry, the pops of color, the high ceilings!
Betsy Burnham of Burnham Design is a genius. Her office was previously featured in lonny.
Happy Weekend!

J.Crew Spring 2012

Dear Jenna,
you KILLED it!
The colors, the pattern play, the orange-red lips!
Above are my favorite looks. Every single piece needs to magically find its way into my closet.

A Perfect Pairing

As of late, I'm loving hits of turquoise in kitchens! Especially when paired with clean white spaces, and found in unexpected places (like the curtains below).

I've been eying the Valencia headboard from Target and then I saw it over on Saucy Glossie. Game Over.
I'm thinking this has to happen! I had a feature wall in the bedroom of my last home and I think I would need to do it again to highlight the lines of the headboard (as Lindsey had done above).
What do you think?

Dipped Legs

Posted on: Wednesday, September 7, 2011

The more I see dipped legs the more I like them. I stumbled across this photo from Better Homes and Gardens over on Little Green Notebook. The chairs are actually from World Market. I'm in love with the lines, and I desperately want to recreate the pink chair! What a fun DIY.

DIY Silhouette

Posted on: Monday, September 5, 2011

I love making silhouettes and have found an effective easy way to create them. All you have to do is take a photograph of a profile (preferably against a white background). Then just print the picture out in black and white on regular paper. You can print any size you like (I usually print 8x10 photographs). Once you have your copy simply layer a piece of paper underneath. I used black here but you can use any solid or patterned paper. I tape a small amount of painters tape on the edges to keep the paper from slipping as I cut around the image. The result: a perfect silhouette. I think they are the sweetest keepsake's.

Whirlwind

Posted on: Thursday, September 1, 2011

What an incredible week! I felt like I was spinning and twirling in a million different directions! Hopefully the pace around here will slow down a bit. All I can say is that I'm so grateful for all of my friends and family as I take on new, exciting challenges.
xx
Wishing everyone a restful weekend.
Cheers!
