Summer to do list:

Posted on: Tuesday, June 24, 2014

Find a local farmers market
Book a quaint weekend retreat
Plan a little cocktail party and use these sweet invitations.
Save blueberry cartons to pack s'mores for a camp fire (preferably on the beach)
Go surfing, or at least paddle boarding.

Aren't summer to do lists so much more appealing than most?

House Loves

Posted on: Sunday, June 22, 2014

I "need" everything on this page!
OK fine.
But, it does cover the gamut from practical (hedgehog dryer ball set, water carafe, bath mat,  copper mugs) to fanciful (koi armchair, brass & lucite chest).

I hope everyone had a fantastic weekend!

Pattern Problems

Posted on: Wednesday, June 18, 2014

The J.Crew sale is phenomenal right now- an extra 30% off of the existing sale price using the code HISUMMER
I've displayed my favorites above, and yes, I have a pattern problem. No wonder I can't find a white shirt anywhere in my closet! I seem to always be drawn to print.
Hope you find something you love:

Gray Malin's new serries: Aqua Glam

Posted on: Tuesday, June 17, 2014

Have you seen Gray Malin's new serries "Aqua Glam"?
The fanicfal images are certainly fun and I love the idea of them large scale.
My favorite is definitely this one. Shop the rest here.

Weekend in Maine

I'm back from my trip to Maine to celebrate O's birthday!
We had beautiful weather and lots of fun outdoors. We made flower crowns which were surprisingly easy. There's really no wrong way to do it and each of our crowns had their own little personal flair.
Hope everyone is having a great week!

#facethefoliage

Posted on: Tuesday, June 10, 2014

Instagram is by far my favorite social media outlet and I love how the "explore" tab now shows recommended images based on your previous likes. That's how I discovered the #facethefoliage hashtag and @justinablakeney. How incredible are the above pieces (most made by Justina). I find them to be quirky yet relaxing. I love the idea of creating art through nature and the fact that it is temporary. Just like a beautiful bouquet of flowers, these designs will ultimately decay.
What are your thoughts? Have you seen these on your feed? You can check out Justine's blog here, and she has challenged others to create their own pieces and use the hashtag facethefoliage

Summer Please...

Posted on: Sunday, June 8, 2014

image

Hope everyone is having a lovely weekend! A few summer picks above including a current favorite pairing of a crop top and full skirt. I never, ever, thought I would own a crop top but actually now have two. I pair them with full skirts like I've shown above. Just the tiniest sliver of midriff shows in certain positions. Would you wear a crop top? I'll post a pic on instagram over the weekend.

A Reading Nook

Posted on: Monday, June 2, 2014

I'm reading a lot lately and am hoping to continue into the summer. Naturally this lends my thoughts to the perfect little reading spot- which I've dreamt up and shown above. The daybed is absolute perfection for sprawling out to read.  I also like to curl up when reading which the Hennie chair lends itself to. I wanted to layer up the rugs (jute/stripe) and add a cozy blanket for good measure.
Anything you're reading right now that you'd recommend?
