I am so obsessed with these bags by designer Amanda Lindroth. I first discovered her from her work at The Dunmore and just recently stumbled upon these custom island bags.
It's so hard to choose one though? I'm undecided between orange grey and blue.
Also, what's a girl to do? Do you get your initials as they are now or your *new married monogram?
Decisions, decisions ;)
Note: These designs are done by hand and usually take three weeks. If gifting for the holidays I would print out a picture of the bag and place it in a card.
I'm so excited to finally get a gift guide up! Life has been super busy and it's been tricky to carve out any down time. I love designing these little posts- it helps me unwind. Here's what I've put together for "the hostess". Shop all items below, except for the long rectangular Jill Rosenwald tray here. Also check out this garland here. I want it cascading down my mothers table (It's 6').
Never will I ever venture out to shop on Black Friday. However, if there's a lull in merriment with friends and family, there are some sales that are worthy of checking out online. Below are my brass tacks picks for today:
J.Crew – 30% off any purchase + an extra 40% off sale styles! Enter the code HOLIDAY.
TUCKERNUCK— 15 – 30% off with codes CYBER-15, CYBER-20, CYBER-25, and CYBER-30
Sorry for the lack of posts! I'm still alive- just engaged!
Holy cow- what an exciting whirlwind it has been. I'll be back to regular posts soon but thought I'd share a little of my recent inspiration for the wedding. Clearly, I've got a thing for garlands (might have to keep that in check). But I'm allergic to flowers so I think it's such a nice way to make a visual statement without an asthma attack (Chic Geek people, chic geek)!
I'd love to incorporate otomi fabric somewhere as Mexico was our first big trip together.
Also, calligraphy. Lots and lots of it.
Any thoughts or tips to bear in mind as I begin this exciting time?
I LOVE winter and the chance to change gears with my wardrobe. I'm obsessed with the above cape which is probably over the top for most people so I included the matching bag too which adds such a fun pop to any ensemble. The gloves- I want them in every single color offered and the boots are the perfect height for jeans and dresses- I need a super low pair and think I just found a winner at 40% off!
I'm fairly obsessed with the entire line and seriously restraining myself at this very moment from buying everything (even the crib- no kids, no problem) I originally purchased the extra wide dresser and am so happy with the quality of the piece! I highly recommend the furniture and with this monster of a sale, I just had to share it with you all.
Shopbop is having their friends and family sale where you can save 25% when you use the code INTHEFAM25
There's plenty of amazing pieces but I wanted to highlight scarves for fall. I find that scarves are the easiest way to pull an outfit together and make it look polished. It's just a next level accessory and I think they are totally worth the investment. You can tie the same scarf a host of different ways and have a different look and feel each time (check out this book that gives you 33 different ways). I'm seriously coveting this cashmere scarf in heather and seascape heather. Do you have a favorite?
My girl crush on Gen Sohr continues. I first posted about her in 2013 here when she was featured in the now defunct Matchbook Magazine. I've followed her over the years and recently caught many glimpses of the progress on her new home through instagram. She and her husband, Ben, are the design team behind Pencil and Paper and are featured montly in Domino. Their 1930's Nashville home was just featured on OKL's blog and it is not to be missed!
Are you dying? Yeah, me too!
Check out the full story here, where you can actually shop the look and learn more about Gen's creative process. I'm in awe of her ability to layer patterns and textures. They ultimately don't compete and create a cohesive look in a space.
Check out Gen's entire portfolio here and find her blog here.
Just a few modern pieces that I would love to incorporate into my home. I'm seriously coveting the painting- how great would it look over a Dorothy Draper espana chest!? (check out a nice replication chest here). Also, fairly obsessed with the gold leaf butter knives which may not technically be considered "modern" but let's go with it because they are definitely glam ;)
A great way to reflect seasonal changes in your home decor is to switch out accessories. Pillows and throws are a budget friendly way to interpret autumn. I also like to do it by replacing flowers in vases with greenery. I added the seagrass buffalo and stag to the round-up because they are such a light whimsical take on taxidermy (which is seasonally appropriate but not personally something I'm drawn to). How do you like to bring fall into your home?
Do you follow Studio McGee? I am in love with the clean and bright aesthetic that Shea brings to her projects. Above is the latest reveal! Furniture with beautiful lines in a neutral palette paired perfectly with bold accessories that add pops of color and pattern.
