Bring It On

Posted on: Tuesday, February 25, 2014

I can't get enough of the above selections from Loeffler Randall. The citrus print is my absolute favorite and I would be hard pressed to choose between the bag, flats, or pumps.

Loren Hope Spring/Summer Look Book

Posted on: Sunday, February 23, 2014

Have you seen the Spring/Summer look book for Loren Hope? The styling was an absolute home run. Loren's girly playful baubles take center stage and are complemented beautifully by the scenery at The Parker Hotel in Palm Springs. I love the look that featured this suit and you can even listen to a "palm springs fling" playlist while you browse! Check it out for yourself here and you can also shop the look below:

Naomi Davis for Sonnet James

Posted on: Wednesday, February 19, 2014

Have you seen the spring lookbook for Sonnet James featuring Naomi Davis from Rockstar Diaries? What a flawless choice for brand representation. Naomi embodies the spirit of the company with her  playful hands-on approach to motherhood. The lookbook captures her in her own element, at home and in the streets of NYC with her little ones Samson and Eleanor.
As a mother of two boys, Whitney created a line of clothing that allowed her to take part in her children's active adventurous lifestyle. I loved watching the video of Whitney's dress collection coming to life. Check it out here. Although I'm not a mom the spirit of these dresses completely resonates with me as a teacher. My two favorite silhouettes for spring are the Marni and the Reese. I think I need both!
What are your thoughts? I wanted to share the line because I think any girl with an active lifestyle can benefit from the wearability. It's not just moms who can appreciate care instructions that read:
"Get Really Dirty. Rinse & Repeat."

Think Spring

Posted on: Tuesday, February 18, 2014

Although there is snow on the ground, I am getting excited by the prospect of spring! I'm ready to ditch the boots and opt for shoes with color and print. And how lovely would it be to run out of the house with simply a tee and scarf (no jacket!). I would happily switch out my winter handbag for the above "pollen buff" shade of the pashli satchel. The perfect spring accessory.

Sounds of Silence Part Deux

Posted on: Monday, February 17, 2014

You may have read my first version of "sounds of silence" when I posted it back here. When I have a lot of writing to do I need a little background music and I tend to play moody melodies, monotonous techno, and low key rap.  Here are a few of my current favorites.
Anything you are listening to and currently loving? Would love to know.

Dan Black: symphonies
I Monster: daydream in blue
Chet Faker: no diggity
Flight Facilities: crave you
Dyme Def: let it be
The MIddle East: blood
Peter Bjorn and John: young folks
Beach House: myth
Nappy Roots: good day
LCD Soundsystem: someone great

Break time generally looks a little something like this, or I may throw in a little bit of this for good measure.
Happy Monday!

Caitlin Wilson Textiles has just expanded to include rugs! If you're a fan of her designs (offered previously as pillows and also fabric by the yard) then you will be happy to know that many of her signature designs can now rest below your toes!
Head on over to check out the line here.
So happy for Caitlin! I remember taking her online survey when she was living abroad thinking of designing her own fabrics.

NYFW street style is one of my favorite things! Fall shows are hard because they occur during winter months. For me, the style can be a bit underwhelming compared to warmer weather looks. That said, the following ensembles reigned supreme despite the winter temps.
Here are my top picks:
Clearly drawn to a lot of black and white. In my book, winter white is simply the best!

Making a house a home

Posted on: Wednesday, February 5, 2014

I love when a space starts to feel homey. For me, adding drapes has made a huge difference in making my condo feel like a home not just a place that I'm renting. Well, that and the custom upholstery I did over the summer on my vintage slipper chairs and benches. The next thing to tackle is artwork for my living room. I like the muted colors of the above abstract art. Everyone says that you should purchase art that speaks to you but I just don't know that I've reached the place where it's prudent to spend serious cash on art. I really fear that my tastes haven't developed yet and I will unwittingly spend tons on something that will, in a matter of time, strike me as a sophomoric selection.
What makes your house feel like a home?

Color Crave

Posted on: Monday, February 3, 2014

How incredible is Whitney Port's colorful eclectic space? Domain Home featured her Venice loft here.
I'm continually drawn to color and pattern in my home and my closet. Here are a few items I'm loving. The top fabric is a possibility for new curtains in my bedroom. I just ordered a few panels and hope I love them. What do you think? Boho-prep or a little Grandma?
