Inspiration from Home Modern

Posted on: Friday, October 14, 2011

I had to share this Dorothy Draper-inspired workstation from Heather over on Home Modern. Aren't the before and after pictures incredible! All of her hard work paid off because this little number is a show stopper!
Heather found the original piece here.
This was the closest match I could find.
Happy Friday!

Entertaining

It's always in the details.
I refuse to serve cheese to guests again without presenting it on this slate cheese board from Ctate&Barrel. Such a gorgeous presentation and, I'm excited to label the slate board with chalk! The serveware is moderately priced and comes in small, medium, and large.

The Weekend

Posted on: Monday, October 10, 2011

Just some pieces of the weekend. It was a good one.
Friday I went to an art exhibit at a friends gallery. Saturday after brunch with friends I was surprised and dropped off at the spa for a massage. Afterwards, I went golfing. Not only was I playing with the former club champ but I had to borrow his right handed clubs (I'm a lefty). It was such a gorgeous day so I pretty much goofed around the whole time and they played for real on the last two holes. After our round we ended the night at a Trey Anastasio concert.
Busy, busy.
Tonight, my little sister is in town for the evening.
So happy!

I think I may have over scheduled myself for the weekend. As long as I get a chance to finally order my desert boots, and cozy up with a cup of tea to relax, I'll be happy. Oh, how I wish I could snuggle with a good book in the space above! The stark contrast of the black and white color palette actually feels warm paired with heavy drapes, eclectic art, and styled shelves.

Neutrals

Posted on: Wednesday, October 5, 2011

I find neutrals, especially in a home, to be so calming. Above, I love the idea of hanging blankets on an antique ladder. The middle vignette looks like the perfect mudroom, and the last picture shows the stripey runner I'm currently coveting.
Happy Wednesday Loves.

Tellason Denim- Made in the USA

Posted on: Sunday, October 2, 2011

After over twenty years in the apparel industry, Tony Patella and and Pete Searson founded Tellason a few years back. They design raw denim jeans cut and sewn in San Francisco using fabric from Cone Mills' White Oak plant in Greensboro, North Carolina. With an impressive stocklist these jeans are making a name for themselves. After watching the video below, you'll want to get your guy in a pair of Tellason's. I love when men roll one small cuff on the bottom exposing the selvedge lining on the outseams of the jeans.

Tweet, Tweet!

It's official. I've caved and started a Twitter page. I'm learning as I go, but It's been really fun over the past day or two. Head on over and check it out if you're interested.

Happy Weekend!

Sneak Peak: CWD Textiles

Posted on: Wednesday, September 28, 2011

Caitlin Wilson has been showing little previews of her upcoming textiles line on her blog. I'm so excited for her to reveal the entire line. I remember when I filled out the survey that she placed on her blog during the beginning stages of her new business venture. Of course she did not disappoint. Her impeccable taste and flawless design aesthetic is serving her well.

Just because I love it...

Perfection.
Happy Tuesday, loves.

Music + Mood Boards

Posted on: Sunday, September 25, 2011

I went and saw MoneyBall this weekend and died over Kerris Dorsey's cover of "The Show". I like it so much more than the origial. It's so raw and beautiful. It's been on repeat this weekend.
