Often I'm fascinated by fashion, trending styles, and PRICES.
Tonight, after browsing Moda Operandi for a few minutes, I was struck with the question I always get- WHY would I spend a grand on an item of clothing? Two grand for a dress? Don't get me wrong, I believe in investment pieces and know that beautiful fabric, flattering cuts, and superior quality costs money. But, I just don't think that every piece in your wardrobe needs to be an investment. And I certainly am not willing to invest $840 in the off the shoulder look. I get some of my nicest compliments on "cheaper" items. So I decided to choose a few here that I think double as high style (Moda Operandi worthy) WITHOUT the cost. I also gave little tips on how I would style each piece.

Let me know your thoughts. Is this a type of segment you would like to see more often here? What are your thoughts on investment pieces? Personally, I don't mind parting with a dress at the end of a season when I know that I bought for it for only $40 bucks!
