I think it can be done in a very classy way, but I don't think I would do it (even though it would help with the small cabinet space that I have). I wouldn't do it, simply because I'd feel uncomfortable having it out when certain people came to visit.
I love a vintage bar cart and have one (stocked!) in my living room. If the actual bar is attractive, it is a great way to display glassware, silver, etc. Everyone knows when they come to our apartment, a martini or any other imagined cocktail is always an option...which always makes for more fun than standard beer and wine.
I adore the look when the cart is open on top and has closed cabinet doors; allowing you to display glasses while discreetly keeping liquor below. Thanks for sharing!
I was going to do a post soon on this after coming across a really stylish cart. I think it can very much look tacky, as with anything but if styled right & with the right accessories etc it can be a pretty cool thing. I'm all for them. Most people having liquor on display anyway...might as well have it confined to a pretty cart.
I don't necessarily think it's tacky, but who wants to dust all of that and keep the glassware looking shiny? If you're having a bunch of guests over, I think it's a lot of fun...if not...put it away.
I don't like it... I'm all about a cocktail (or two:) at 5:00 but this just looks like you don't have room in your cabinets. - Abby
ReplyDeletei think it depends on your lifestyle and where it's placed.
ReplyDeleteI think it depends on how you place it out. There is a way to do it tastfully but there is definitely a way to make it look super tacky.

ReplyDeleteI think it's cute! It reminds me of the ones they had in old Marilyn Monroe movies. =)
