wearing comfy clothes (looking as good if not better than the lady pictured above)
and hopefully finding some new inspiring spaces to post on.
Happy Wednesday!

Makeup Organization

Posted on: Monday, October 25, 2010

My makeup has been totally unorganized lately and I couldn't take another minute of it.
I was at Michaels and they had out holiday decor. I decided that it would be perfect for organizing my products. The silver tray was only $6.99 and the little gold striped cups are candle votives. The large one was $3.99 and holds all of my brushes and mascara. The little one is perfect for my lip glosses and was only $1.99.
I love how this little inexpensive project is so rewarding. I feel so much better living in an organized space.

Gallery Wall Lust Continued...

Posted on: Friday, October 22, 2010

OBSESSED with the above eye charts. I really want to buy one of the two but they are no longer available on the Keep Calm Gallery. Does anyone know where to find them? I think it would be the perfect start to a gallery wall paired with the deer silhouette below.
The eye charts pictured below are currently available:

I would probably purchase the "Rarely See" one.
Shop the eye charts and dear silhouette here.

Side note: Who styled the photos above? Blah.

If you haven't checked out Elegant Touch on Etsy I highly reccomend it! Love the fabrics they choose and their price point is incredibly reasonable. Pillows are such an easy, afordable way to change up the feel of a room.
Happy Wednesday!

A Small Space With Big Style

Posted on: Friday, October 15, 2010

Absolutely adorable! Loving it.
Oh. My. Gosh.
DIY rug! I have the exact same rug from Ikea and now I'm dying to try this! Here's what Natalie said about it:
Proudest DIY: The rug! I had been ogling Moroccan tile rugs for a long time but could never find one that fit my teeny-tiny budget, so I decided to make one myself. My mom gave me an Erslev Ikea rug that she pulled out of her garage and since it was so cheap I didn’t mind attempting to paint it. I made a stencil out of a sheet of cardstock and just starting painting. I’m enamored with the results and the best part is that it’s completely machine washable!

I love the above pitcher. I've purchased it a few times as a gift from Crate&Barell and just recently saw it at Pier1. I think I'm going to have to give in and buy it soon!

Eddie Ross DIY Thanksgiving Table Styling

Posted on: Wednesday, October 13, 2010

Admittedly, I have not given the latest Lonny issue my full attention. I just haven't had time to pour over every page like I usually do. I stole a moment today to quickly flip through and I DIED over the Thanksgiving table syling by Eddie Ross.

Above, Ross used Tintex fabric dye to breath new life into boring old white napkins.
"When in doubt paint it Gold"-Ross

Above, small pumpkins are painted gold and used as place card holders.
Below, a gold pumpkin centerpiece was made by hollowing out a pumpkin and making it into a vase. If you try this, Ross recommends that you put a plastic container of water inside the pumpkin to safeguard against roting.

Above, inexpensive bird figurines go from tacky to FAB with a splash of gold paint.

This man is clearly a genius! Check out all of his tips here.
A big thank you to Lonny for providing endless inspiration!
Happy One-Year Anniversay!
I can't wait to pour over the rest of the issue.

Fabric Obsession/ Headboard DIY

Posted on: Monday, October 11, 2010

Over the weekend my obsession with the Mexican Suzani Bedspread from Table Tonic ran wild. Whats wrong with me? It's not like its the first time I've ever seen it. Regardless, my renewed interest clearly led to this post where it is used on a headboard. The fabric is hand embroidered by Otomi Indians in Mexico. It can be purchased at Table Tonic, the Mexican-Textiles-Museum-Store, and Jacaranda.

Two important questions:

1. How in the world has this not been made into wallpaper yet?!

2. Do you think Santa reads my blog?

Over the past year or so I've watched the video tutorial below about a million times. My conclusion: I need to meet a guy who owns some serious power tools. I know I know, don't rely on men. But seriously, there's no way I could do this on my own!
Check it out below.

New Online Magazine: Adore Home

Posted on: Friday, October 8, 2010

A new online Australian home and lifestyle magazine, Adore Home, has just launched. I'm loving it, and am so happy to see so many bloggers homes featured!

I'm still lamenting the fact that I don't have a home office. I'm dying to decorate one and I LOVE the offices they featured! Jaw-dropping spaces that would have me working away all weekend long.

Oh. My. God.
Seriously...seriously?!
Louise Bell (owner of Table Tonic) creates usable space beneath a staircase for her home office.
I'm also loving the nursery below! I'm not a fan of "baby"design themes in children's rooms (think cartoon decals on the walls etc.). Louise Bell hits another home run with this design.
Are you as obsessed with the Mexican suzani bedspred (pictured top right) as I am?
Find it here, at Table Tonic.
Even though I was familiar with many of the interiors featured, I can't wait until the next issue!

Whirlwind

...sums up my state of mind right now.
Crazy week thus far and all I want to do is relax but that will have to wait until the weekend. A few inspiring images for today:
I'm clearly loving chairs.

More Zebra Love

Posted on: Monday, October 4, 2010

My appreciation (more like obsession) for Zebra print continues...
The orange and blue color combination is perfect in this space.
The zebra curtains paired with grasscloth wallpaper is simply phenomenal.

Absolutely obsessed with the zebra print wallpaper. I love the bold print used in a small space. It adds drama and a punch of color. I'm not sure that I would like it as much in another color. Certainly not in black. I hope I can use this wallpaper at some point.

Love this fun zebra wallpaper! I've seen it used in powder rooms as well as in a restaurant. I'm particularly drawn to the brown color scheme.
